Avalanche & Brownie

Harmony Homestead Farm is a 100 acre homestead and working farm in southern Vermont. It is a destination venue for events and educational program for adults and young persons and a retreat for artists to escape, create, rejuvenate, and absorb the natural world .  Our mission is to provide agricultural products as part of a local food community, teach critical thinking & life skills and to develop & live green by example.  To that end, Harmony Homestead Farm and family is dedicated to being concientious stewards of the land and working hard to become an institution of self sufficient, albeit alternative means thereby positioning itself for growing, sustainability even in a post-oil economy.

The modern day homestead and farm is the vision of Gail & Paul Brotchie who germinated the concept in 2003 and aquired the raw land in 2005. Many building materials have been salvaged to build out the infrastructure of the farm. There are several small cabins and farm buildings erected. A 44 ft. Cape Cod house,  a 30 ft. x 20 ft. translucent roof studio and a large garage, all donated, await re-construction. The animal family currently  includes draft horses, guard llamas, goats, dogs and a cat named Lilly Pads. The Brotchies are regstered Vizsla breeders.

Visitors are welcome by appointment. Events are encouraged, including rustic themed weddings, retreats and reunions. Donations to the farm and volunteers are always honored and appreciated.
